Football Alumnus Named Interim Head Coach for Carolina Panthers

Chris Tabor Returns to Alma Mater

Former Benedictine Raven Takes on New Role

Former Benedictine College football alumnus Chris Tabor was named interim head coach of the Carolina Panthers on November 17, 2023. Tabor, who played for the Ravens from 1999 to 2002, returns to his alma mater after a successful coaching career in the NFL.

Tabor expressed his gratitude and excitement for the opportunity to lead his former team. "I am honored to be named interim head coach of the Carolina Panthers," Tabor said in a statement. "I have always cherished my time at Benedictine College, and I am excited to be back and contribute to the success of this program."

Tabor's appointment comes after the Panthers fired Matt Rhule earlier this season. The team has struggled to find consistency in recent years, but Tabor hopes to turn things around and bring success back to Charlotte.

Benedictine College President Stephen Minnis congratulated Tabor on his new role. "We are so proud of Chris and all he has accomplished," Minnis said. "He is a role model for our students and a shining example of what Benedictine College is all about. We know he will succeed in this new chapter."
